The long-awaited return of Eleanor Bishop on NCIS delivered intense drama, emotional reunions, and a mystery that kept fans guessing. Her comeback included a tense encounter with Nick Torres, played by Wilmer Valderrama, as the team struggled to determine whether Bishop could still be trusted.
Early in the episode, Jessica Knight revealed shocking news to Torres and Timothy McGee: Bishop had been listed as a wanted cyber-terrorist. She had been working with a covert unit whose mission was compromised, and one of their teammates, Patricia, was believed to have been killed. Now evidence suggested Bishop might be involved in an attempt to steal sensitive files from the Department of Defense.
In the episode titled “Her,” Knight receives orders to track down and arrest Bishop during her first NCIS: Elite mission. Desperate for someone she can trust, Bishop secretly reaches out to Torres. The two meet face-to-face for the first time since she abruptly left the team nearly five years earlier.
Flashbacks reveal that Torres and Bishop had taken their relationship to the next level before her departure, making the reunion even more emotional. Bishop even broke into Torres’ home to access his computer, insisting she wasn’t the mole and was trying to uncover the real traitor within her team.
Eventually, Torres decides to trust her. With Knight’s reluctant help, they sneak Bishop into NCIS headquarters so she can retrieve the files she needs. After briefly reuniting with the team — including Jimmy, Kasie, and McGee — Bishop heads to MTAC with McGee. But just when things seem calm, she suddenly injects McGee with a needle, knocking him unconscious.
At first it appears Bishop may truly be compromised. However, the truth soon emerges: she had been threatened by an unknown figure. When she arrives at a meeting point, she is knocked out with gas and wakes up to discover Patricia — the teammate thought to be dead — is actually the real mole.
Before Patricia can harm Bishop, the NCIS team arrives and rescues her and another teammate, Jonathan. It is also revealed that Bishop and Jonathan had married on paper for operational reasons, allowing them to travel and work together more easily.
In the end, Bishop prepares to return to her mission but takes a moment to say goodbye to the team. She even invites Torres to join her, though he decides his place is still with the NCIS team. The two share an emotional farewell before Bishop leaves once again.
Her return thrilled longtime fans, and many are already hoping this won’t be the last time they see Bishop back on NCIS.
