Fans of Blue Bloods can get ready — its spinoff Boston Blue is returning with new episodes and some very familiar faces.
The series, which premiered on October 17, 2025, continues the story of Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg. After leaving New York, Danny relocates to Boston and begins working with the Boston Police Department, where he is partnered with Lena Silver, portrayed by Sonequa Martin-Green. Lena comes from the influential Silver family, a powerful law-enforcement dynasty in the city.
Although the first part of the season focused on introducing the Silver family, the show is now preparing to bring more members of the Reagan family into the story. Co-showrunner Brandon Sonnier previously teased that several Reagans will appear as the season continues — including some characters fans haven’t yet seen in the spinoff.
The pilot episode already featured a familiar face when Bridget Moynahan returned as Erin Reagan Boyle. She is expected to appear again later in the season. Another beloved character is also returning: Len Cariou will reprise his role as Henry Reagan, the Reagan family patriarch.
The most recent episode aired on December 19, 2025, ending on a dramatic cliffhanger. The series went on a winter hiatus, but the story will pick up exactly where it left off. According to the producers, the next episode will be highly emotional and will both close an important chapter for the Silver family and introduce new storylines moving forward.
Season 1 of Boston Blue will include 20 episodes in total.
New episodes return February 27 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS, and will also be available for streaming the following day on Paramount+.
The upcoming episode, titled “Hard Truths,” follows the fallout after Ben’s killer is released from prison. As Jonah struggles with anger and grief, tensions within the Silver family rise. At the same time, Danny and Lena take on a dangerous case that exposes long-buried secrets and forces unexpected alliances.
