Boston Blue is preparing a special moment for fans, as another beloved Blue Bloods character is set to return. While the new series mainly follows Danny and Sean Reagan as they adjust to life in Boston, it has continued to keep the famous Reagan family connected even after the original show ended.
The sequel spinoff, which debuted in the 2025–2026 TV season nearly a year after Blue Bloods wrapped up, centers on the father-and-son duo as they build a new life in New England. Along the way, they’re also getting to know the Silvers, Boston’s version of the Reagan family. So far, only Erin Reagan has made a cameo appearance — but another major family member is about to change that.
Henry Reagan is reportedly returning soon.
Veteran actor Len Cariou recently spoke to People magazine about stepping back into the role for the first time since the series ended in 2024. The actor shared his excitement about reuniting with Donnie Wahlberg and meeting the recast version of Sean, now played by Mika Amonsen.
> “It was great to see Donnie and meet the new great-grandchild.”
Fans first got a glimpse of Henry’s return in the midseason trailer for Boston Blue, which teased his appearance in episode 13. Although CBS hasn’t revealed many details about the storyline yet, Henry’s return is expected to bring plenty of wisdom — something the Reagan family has always relied on.
His visit could also lead to an interesting meeting with the Silver family. Much like the Reagans, the Silvers regularly gather for dinner to discuss their lives and challenges. When Erin appeared earlier in the season, she quickly bonded with them, and fans are curious to see if Henry will share a similar moment.
Even if Henry’s trip is simply to check in on Danny and Sean after everything they’ve faced recently, his appearance could open the door for more Reagan family members to show up in Boston. If the family patriarch can make the trip, fans are already wondering who might be next.
