Fans of NCIS were thrilled to see Nick Torres reunite with his former partner and love interest Ellie Bishop. But their undeniable connection has raised questions about what it could mean for Torres’ growing bond with his current partner, Jessica Knight.
Actor Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Torres, told Us Weekly that the kiss between Torres and Bishop during their March 3 reunion could have a ripple effect on Torres’ developing chemistry with Knight.
Valderrama explained that throughout Season 23 of the CBS drama, fans have correctly noticed the sparks between Torres and Knight. However, their potential romance could create tension within the team—especially with Knight’s ex-boyfriend, NCIS medical examiner Jimmy Palmer.
The actor hinted that the storyline is still unfolding, saying the “lever” on Torres and Knight’s relationship is only halfway pulled. According to him, the show’s writers never make big moves without a plan.
He also warned that if Torres and Knight cross the line into a full romance, there could be serious consequences and even “irreparable damage” for the team dynamic.
“It would definitely change things in the squadroom for a long time,” Valderrama said with a laugh, adding that upcoming episodes—and even the start of next season—will begin to answer many of these lingering questions.
The former That ’70s Show star also teased that things could become even more complicated if Torres and Knight share a kiss of their own, especially after Knight witnessed the moment between Torres and Bishop during the March 3 episode.
