Wilmer Valderrama Says He Can’t Leave Home Until His Daughter Tells Him “I Love You”
Star of the hit series NCIS, Wilmer Valderrama recently opened up about fatherhood — and shared a heartwarming rule he follows every day before leaving home.
The actor revealed that he literally cannot walk out the door until he hears his young daughter say three special words.
“She now mumbles, ‘I love you,’” Valderrama told People magazine. “I literally can’t leave the house to go to work until I hear it.”
Valderrama described being a father as an incredible experience. He said his daughter is becoming more active every day and has recently started learning to run.
Like many parents, he joked about watching his toddler run around the house, often wearing the wrong shoes for her speed, which sometimes leads to funny and unpredictable moments.
Valderrama and his partner Amanda Pacheco welcomed their first child, a daughter, in February 2021.
On screen, Valderrama plays Special Agent Nick Torres in NCIS, one of television’s most popular crime dramas.
The series recently returned with a crossover episode featuring characters from NCIS: Hawaiʻi. In the storyline, the NCIS team sought help from their Hawaii counterparts after Special Agent Alden Parker was falsely accused of murdering his former FBI partner.
The crossover brought together several fan-favorite characters and delivered another exciting moment for the long-running NCIS franchise.
