NCIS Renewed for Season 23 — And the Franchise Keeps Growing
CBS has officially renewed NCIS for season 23, keeping the original series alive and fans excited for what’s next. As the flagship of the franchise, the show continues to follow a tight-knit team navigating high-stakes cases, sharp humor, and complex dynamics.
Leading the unit is Special Agent Alden Parker, a former FBI agent known for his calm approach and dry wit. He’s joined by senior field agent Timothy McGee, tech expert and MIT graduate; the bold and unpredictable Nicholas “Nick” Torres; and skilled REACT specialist Jessica Knight. Supporting them are medical examiner Jimmy Palmer and forensic scientist Kasie Hines, all under the watchful leadership of NCIS Director Leon Vance. From espionage to terrorism and Navy-linked crimes, the team handles it all.
Meanwhile, NCIS: Origins has also been renewed for season 2 after a strong start. The prequel explores a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs in 1991 as he begins his career at Camp Pendleton, guided by NCIS legend Mike Franks and narrated by Mark Harmon.
The new season premieres Tuesday, October 14.
