After the cancellation of Blue Bloods in 2024, the story continues with the spin-off Boston Blue. Donnie Wahlberg revealed that Tom Selleck has shown support for the new series, though he hasn’t committed to appearing yet.

Wahlberg said he spoke with Selleck early on and described him as “very supportive,” while also noting that any return would depend on the right storyline.

“Would I love for Tom to come up to Boston? Absolutely,” Wahlberg said, adding that the door is always open for both Frank and Danny Reagan to reunite on screen.

Selleck, however, has made it clear he isn’t rushing back, saying he isn’t sure if returning as Frank Reagan is something he wants to do again after Blue Bloods ended its 293-episode run in December 2024.

The cast has spoken emotionally about the show’s ending, calling it a major loss after more than a decade together, but Boston Blue now carries the franchise forward — continuing Danny Reagan’s story and honoring the legacy of the original series.
