Ellie Bishop is officially back on NCIS — and her return already has Torres exactly where she wants him.
CBS released first-look photos from the midseason premiere airing Tuesday, March 3 at 8 p.m., showing Emily Wickersham reprising her role as former agent Ellie Bishop. The images tease a tense reunion: Torres tied to a chair while Bishop stands over him. Is it lingering romance resurfacing… or something far more dangerous?
Fans will remember the fall finale revealed that Knight’s first mission with NCIS Elite is to track down Bishop, who has been secretly watching the team from a distance. Wickersham exited the series in Season 18 after Bishop joined a classified undercover operation, making her return even more mysterious.
According to the official episode synopsis, Knight is ordered to locate and arrest Bishop after she’s labeled a wanted cyber-terrorist. With few people she can trust, Bishop turns to Torres, leading to their first face-to-face encounter since her sudden departure nearly five years ago.
Wickersham shared her excitement about returning, calling it a chance to step back into a familiar world with a very different version of Bishop — one shaped by new experiences, added complexity, and emotional baggage. She described the episode as a “love letter” to fans and teased that it brings fresh dynamics to a story long in the making.
