NCIS Icon David McCallum’s Estate Revealed After His Death at 90 — Entire Fortune Left to Wife
The late David McCallum, beloved for his role as Dr. Donald “Ducky” Mallard on NCIS, left nearly £100,000 to his wife, Katherine Carpenter, following his passing at age 90.
Official documents show the legendary actor’s estate in England and Wales was valued at £97,307, with the full amount left to Katherine, who also served as administrator of the estate. His will, originally drafted in 2010, was later ratified by a New York court.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, McCallum died of natural causes, surrounded by family — just days after celebrating his 90th birthday.
A Life On and Off Screen
McCallum enjoyed a remarkable career spanning decades. He became a global star in the 1960s as Illya Kuryakin in The Man from U.N.C.L.E., earning Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. He also appeared alongside Steve McQueen in the classic war film The Great Escape.
Younger audiences came to know him best through his 20-season run on NCIS, where he was the last remaining original cast member from the show’s 2003 premiere.
Family and Legacy
McCallum had five children. Three — Valentine, Paul, and Jason — were from his first marriage to Jill Ireland. He later welcomed son Peter and daughter Sophie with Katherine Carpenter.
His will stated that if Katherine had predeceased him, his estate would have gone to Peter and Sophie. It also included provisions for his sons Paul and Valentine.
Following his passing, NCIS executive producers paid tribute, calling him “a scholar and a gentleman” and “quite simply, a legend.”
CBS Studios added that McCallum “led an incredible life” and said his legacy will live on through his family and his decades of unforgettable performances.
