Donnie Wahlberg may have closed the Blue Bloods chapter, but the support from his former castmates hasn’t gone anywhere.
It’s been over a year since Blue Bloods wrapped after 14 seasons. Since then, Wahlberg has continued Danny Reagan’s story in the spinoff Boston Blue while also performing in New Kids on the Block’s Las Vegas residency.
Over Valentine’s Day weekend, his former co-star Marisa Ramirez — who played Detective María Baez — showed her support in person. Sitting front row at NKOTB’s latest show, she shared a sweet reunion photo with Wahlberg on Instagram, calling it “the best way to spend Valentine’s Day” and thanking fans for the warm welcome.
Fans quickly flooded the comments, celebrating the beloved “Danny and Baez” duo and reminiscing about their on-screen chemistry.
Wahlberg added to the excitement himself, teasing “See you next week! #Daez,” hinting that Ramirez may soon return to Boston Blue. In fact, she already appeared in the premiere episode, which confirmed Danny and Baez had taken their partnership to a romantic level.
Showrunner Brandon Margolis confirmed to TVLine that Baez will return multiple times in the first season, with her relationship with Danny playing a key role. Executive producer Brandon Sonnier also revealed to TV Insider that more familiar faces — and new members of both the Silver and Reagan families — are on the way.
The Blue Bloods family may have moved on, but the bonds — on screen and off — are clearly stronger than ever.
