Rocky Carroll Exits NCIS After 18 Seasons in Shocking Twist
After nearly two decades on NCIS, Rocky Carroll has officially exited the series in its milestone 500th episode, “All Good Things.”
His character, Director Leon Vance, is killed off in a dramatic storyline while uncovering a dangerous conspiracy threatening the agency. After exposing a double agent, Vance is shot and later revealed to have died — marking an emotional and definitive end to his journey.
Carroll, who joined the show in 2008 and appeared in almost 400 episodes, became one of the most recognizable faces of the franchise. In addition to acting, he also directed over 20 episodes.
The farewell episode pays tribute to his legacy, ending with a touching afterlife reunion with Dr. “Duckie” Mallard.
Although Carroll is leaving his on-screen role, he is expected to return behind the scenes as a director for a future episode.
