Donnie Wahlberg’s new series Boston Blue is expanding its cast with the return of another beloved member of the Reagan family from Blue Bloods.
After running for 14 seasons, the hit CBS police drama ended, but the story didn’t fully close. In 2025, the universe continued with Boston Blue, which follows Danny Reagan as he moves from New York to Boston to support his son Sean.
Several familiar faces from Blue Bloods have already returned, including Bridget Moynahan as Erin Reagan and Marisa Ramirez as Maria Baez. Now, another key member of the Reagan family is set to appear.
In an upcoming episode expected to air in April, Len Cariou — who portrayed Commissioner Henry Reagan throughout the entire run of Blue Bloods — will make a special cameo.
After fans spotted him in the midseason trailer for Boston Blue, the 86-year-old actor confirmed his return in an interview with People. He described the experience as “fun,” adding that it was wonderful to reunite with Wahlberg and meet the newest member of the Reagan family.
