Emily Wickersham Returns to NCIS as a Darker Bishop Amid Torres–Knight Tension
After five seasons away, Emily Wickersham is set to return to NCIS as Ellie Bishop — but fans will meet a very different version of her character.
Wickersham teased that Bishop has changed significantly since leaving in 2021, hinting she’s been through intense and possibly darker experiences that left her with emotional “baggage.”
In her comeback episode, Bishop finds herself on the run as a suspected cyberterrorist, immediately putting her in conflict with NCIS. Things get even more complicated when Jessica Knight, now part of NCIS Elite, is assigned to track her down alongside Nick Torres.
Bishop’s past with Torres is expected to resurface, with Wickersham confirming their bond still exists despite the time apart. She hinted that their chemistry hasn’t faded, even after years of separation.
However, Bishop is also aware of Torres’ growing connection with Knight. While jealousy may surface, Wickersham suggested Bishop ultimately still cares about his happiness.
With Bishop now operating in a morally gray space and facing distrust from the team, her return promises major emotional tension and unexpected twists for NCIS fans.
