Eric Christian Olsen Back in NCIS Franchise!

Eric Christian Olsen Returns to the NCIS Franchise as Executive Producer on NCIS: Origins

More than three years after NCIS: Los Angeles ended its 14-season run, Eric Christian Olsen is officially returning to the franchise.

Best known for playing Marty Deeks, Olsen will not be reprising his on-screen role. Instead, he has joined NCIS: Origins Season 3 as an executive producer, contributing behind the scenes to the development of the prequel series.

The move reflects Olsen’s continued shift from acting toward producing. Since the conclusion of NCIS: Los Angeles, he has focused on creative work behind the camera, including producing CBS’ reboot of Matlock.

Olsen has previously expressed his interest in building stories from the ground up and collaborating with writers and producers to shape long-term creative direction. His involvement in NCIS: Origins marks another step in his growing influence within television production.

The series itself follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs and explores the formative years that led to the creation of one of NCIS’s most iconic agents. Season 3 will also feature an expanded role for Mark Harmon, who narrates the series and is expected to appear more prominently on screen.

While no return as Marty Deeks has been confirmed, fans continue to speculate about a possible future appearance, especially as the NCIS universe expands and reunions remain a strong possibility.
