The creators of Boston Blue had hinted there was a “real chance” fans would meet Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko’s baby—and in Episode 12, they finally delivered.
During the St. Patrick’s Day-themed episode, viewers got their first glimpse of the child: a baby boy named Joe Francis. The reveal came through a photo on Danny Reagan’s phone, sent by Jamie, showing the baby in a festive onesie that also confirmed his name. The name honors both the late Joe Reagan and family patriarch Frank Reagan (Francis).
The episode was packed with nods to Blue Bloods, including a case tied to the same group responsible for Linda Reagan’s death. It also highlighted the Reagans’ strong Irish traditions, contrasting them with Boston locals’ more casual take on St. Patrick’s Day.
While Jamie and Eddie didn’t appear in person, the door remains open. Co-creator Brandon Margolis teased that more Reagan family appearances could happen in Season 2, especially after the show’s renewal.
