After wrapping up his legendary run as Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods, Tom Selleck isn’t ready to slow down. Instead, the beloved actor is looking to return to one of the genres that helped make him a star — the Western.
At 81, Selleck says he still has a passion for cowboy stories and hopes to saddle up once again. Known not only for Blue Bloods and Magnum, P.I., but also for classic Westerns such as The Sacketts, The Shadow Riders, and Quigley Down Under, the actor admits he misses life in the saddle.
“A good Western is always on my list,” Selleck shared in a recent interview. “I miss that; I want to sit on a horse again.”
His love for the Western lifestyle extends beyond Hollywood. Selleck currently lives on a working avocado ranch, where he enjoys a quieter life away from the spotlight.
While no new Western project has been announced, Selleck is already preparing for his next television venture. The actor will host Crime and Justice with Tom Selleck on the History Channel, a 10-episode series exploring some of America’s most significant criminal cases and the lawmen who brought notorious offenders to justice.
Selleck says the project reflects themes that have always interested him throughout his career: justice, responsibility, and the consequences of difficult decisions.
Whether he returns to the Wild West or not, one thing is certain — Tom Selleck remains as active and popular as ever, with fans eager to see what he does next.
